The Bates College Economics Department invites applications for a tenure-track position at the Assistant Professor level. We will consider applications in any field, but we especially welcome applicants with an interest in Labor Economics, Demographic Economics, Public Economics, the Economics of Education, Welfare Economics, Law and Economics, Economic History, Behavioral Economics, or Experimental Economics. Candidates who have demonstrated success working with underrepresented and marginalized populations are encouraged to apply. The successful candidate will combine teaching and research in their field(s) of specialization with the expectation to regularly teach one or more core courses in our major: Introductory and Intermediate Microeconomic and/or Macroeconomic Theory, Statistics, and Econometrics. The annual teaching load is 5 courses. The appointment begins on August 1, 2020.
