Job Description

The Software Application Developer IV, under direction, provides technical leadership and oversees the deployment and delivery of enterprise-wide software development projects or services. Participates in mentoring, training, and developing other employees.


  • Analyze current business processes and make suggestions to utilize various technological tools to help improve business processes, and translate into system requirements and/or development of systems solutions.
  • Create, develop, troubleshoot, diagnose, repair, and maintain current data integrations between Banner and 3rd-party applications.
  • Work through all phases of program development, from analysis, design and code phase through the end-user training phase and post-release modification phase.
  • Provides technical development support for Banner, Financial Aid, Student, and related applications & systems. Able to apply extensive experience to quickly learn and adapt to additional or other Banner modules.
  • Develop complete, meaningful documentation.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Required Education & Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree.
  • Eight years of related experience.

Required Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

  • Knowledge of word processing and spreadsheet applications.
  • Knowledge of IT architecture, application of systems theory, advanced negotiation skills, enterprise-level operations, multi-team leadership and coordination, advanced project management, advanced vendor relations, advanced business acumen, and change management.
  • Ability to multitask and work cooperatively with others.
  • Excellent written communication, analytical, interpersonal, and organizational skills.

  • Position is located on-site on the campus of Prairie View A&M University, Monday through Friday.
