Professor of Professional Practice (Open Rank) in the Department of Industrial Engineering and Operations Research

The Department of Industrial Engineering and Operations Research (IEOR) at Columbia Engineering invites applications for an open-rank position on the practice faculty starting in the 2022-2023 academic year or earlier. This position is open to candidates with professional and/or research interests in any aspect of operations research. Candidates with interests in data science and business analytics are especially encouraged to apply. Members of the practice faculty are full-time non-tenure-track faculty members who have substantial professional experience.

The IEOR Department is looking for applicants with a recognizable reputation reflecting distinguished professional experience in operations research or related areas. Candidates for this position must hold a PhD in Operations Research or related disciplines. A successful candidate will be involved in all aspects of the educational mission of the Department, which includes developing curriculum and courses relevant to practice, executive programs for practitioners, and developing industry contacts for sponsored projects and project-based courses. In addition, we expect a successful candidate to help with all aspects of the MS programs in Management Science & Engineering, Business Analytics, and Operations Research, including admissions and student advising, helping to organize seminars and conferences, and recruiting industry affiliates.

The Department is especially interested in qualified candidates who can contribute, through their research, teaching, and/or service, to the diversity and excellence of the academic community.
