The Thomas E. Starzl Transplantation Institute in the Department of Surgery at the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine is seeking applicants for a tenure-stream faculty position at the level of Assistant Professor of Surgery.
The successful candidate will develop a full-time, independently funded research program at the intersection of transplantation immunology and computational immunogenomics and will be expected to engage in active collaboration with both basic scientists and clinicians within the interactive transplant research community. In addition to developing a successful research program, the teaching and mentoring of graduate students and postdoctoral fellows will be expected.
Individuals applying for this position must have either an MD or Ph.D. degree in Immunology or a related field.
Experimental and analytical skills in both transplantation immunology and computational immunogenomics are required.
Candidates should possess strong interpersonal, analytical, and leadership skills and have a demonstrated record of success evidenced by publications in high-impact peer-reviewed journals.
