Major/Essential Functions
Be an active participant in the Advanced Heart Failure/MCS/transplant cardiology program including management of both in and out-patient heart failure patients.
Be an active participant in a device program to include left ventricular assist devices/ECMO /transplant cardiology.
Participate in development of research pertaining to general cardiology and/or congestive heart failure.
Occasional Duties
Outreach to regional primary care physicians and cardiologists.
Participate in monthly outreach clinics.
Internal Medicine in-patient service.
Prison clinics. (Telemedicine).
Required Qualifications
Education
MD or DO.
Successful completion of a 3-years Internal Medicine residency training
AHF/Transplant Cardiology fellowship training required.
Board Certification in Internal Medicine
Completion of an Cardiology fellowship
Board Certification or Board Eligibility in Cardiology
License
Current permanent or temporary Texas medical license or eligible for Texas medical license.
Academic degree as defined by the academic unit and as appropriate for the position held. Demonstrated record of effectiveness as a teacher, a record of peer reviewed publication and/or peer-reviewed creative activity which has contributed to the discipline or field of study, to the candidate's intellectual and artistic development, and to the quality of the academic enterprise; a record of professional service appropriate to the discipline; promise of growth in teaching and research or artistic and creative activity
Preferred Qualifications
AHF/Transplant Cardiology fellowship training required.

Pay Statement
