Medical Services operates the student health clinic in the Owens Franklin Health Center serving both student and community patients for their primary health care needs. The Business Coordinator II will join the Medical Services administrative team and work collaboratively with the Medical Services clinical team and health administrators.

The Business Coordinator II is responsible for the day-to-day operations of the health clinic which include ensuring proper implementation of policies and procedures related to finance, quality assurance, purchasing and patient services.

  • Supervise health clinic administrative support staff and student workers. Provide back up support when needed.
  • Manage a weekly supply inventory process to optimize inventory control procedures. Secure necessary approvals for purchases and complete the required procurement processes and documentation for needed purchases. Verifies payment of invoices associated with accounts payable and ensures payments are charged to the appropriate accounts.
  • Oversee the daily financial and accounting analysis, monitoring, and reporting for clinic. Generate detailed accounting reports. Reconcile patient EMR accounts. Process all health insurance claims and up date patient bills to reflect received payments. Input any student charges into Banner.
  • Perform regular quality control checks to ensure compliance with policies and procedures for purchasing, inventory, billing, coding, accounting, and customer service.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Required Education & Experience:
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience. ​
  • Three years of related experience.

Required Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
  • Knowledge of word processing and spreadsheet applications.
  • Interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Planning and organizational skills.
  • Ability to multitask and work cooperatively with others.

Special Requirements:
  • Applicants with equivalent experience in lieu of a Bachelor's degree may be considered. One year of the related experience is the equivalent of one college year. Applicants being considered for the equivalency must have four years of related experience to meet the equivalency in lieu of a Bachelor's degree plus the minimum required years of experience. Applicants being considered for the equivalency must have a total of seven years of experience.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Health Administration, Business, Accounting or Finance.
  • Four years of related experience in healthcare or business/finance setting.
