The successful candidate will have a PhD and/or MD and a proven track record of excellence in creative approaches to Biomedical Research and extramural funding. Evidence of interdisciplinary/collaborative research projects is a plus. The vision for these hires is the potential to add to and to integrate with the research programs of the existing 34 research faculty in Biomedical Sciences and with those in other Departments at FSU. Recruitment for these positions will focus on infectious disease (broadly defined), metabolism, bioinformatics and pathology (broadly defined), but any area of expertise within the Biomedical Sciences will be considered. Excellent mentoring and strong teaching skills are highly valued in the College of Medicine where faculty members participate in one or more aspects of medical, physician assistant, graduate, and undergraduate education.
