Texas Christian University, Harris College of Nursing and Health Sciences, invites applications for the position of Associate/Full Professor and Chair of the Department of Kinesiology (tenure track appointment). The Chair is the senior administrator of the academic unit and serves as the liaison between the Department and the Dean of the college. The Chair is responsible for leading strategic planning, budget allocations, and management of resources; activities related to student recruitment and retention; faculty and staff orientation and development; resource enhancement; and the advancement of the Department's mission and goals within the University and the College. The Chair also oversees faculty/staff appointments, and in consultation with the faculty, promotion and tenure recommendations, program development and curricula. We are seeking an individual to continue the department's record of strategic growth and advancement in teaching, research, and professional practice. The candidate will have an earned doctorate and demonstrated teaching/research experience in a discipline related to Kinesiology. As an experienced faculty member, teaching each semester in your field will be expected and mentoring graduate and undergraduate students in research will be highly encouraged. We have well equipped labs including but not limited to DEXA, environmental chamber, force plate, motion capture, wet lab equipment, and ultra sound. Strong interpersonal communication skills and demonstrated or strong potential for successful academic leadership is essential. An understanding of all the programs within the department including health and fitness, movement science, physical education, and athletic training, is preferred.

The Department of Kinesiology offers a variety undergraduate and graduate programs of study, including a PhD in Health Sciences (harrisresearch.tcu.edu). The Harris College of Nursing & Health Sciences consists of programs that prepare future health care and human services professionals. The academic units within Harris College - Communication Sciences & Disorders, Kinesiology, Nurse Anesthesia, Nursing and Social Work - are home to more than 1,600 students who are supported by committed and talented faculty and staff.
