 Job Description Summary

The successful candidate will teach a variety of core courses within the Computer Science, Computer Information Systems, Cybersecurity, Robotics, and Software Engineering programs. Additional expectations include academic advising, assisting the department with program assessment, administrative work, serving on college and university-wide committees. Faculty are required to continue professional development in accordance with university expectations. Faculty appointments are for a nine-month contract period with a normal teaching load of 12 credit hours per semester.

Job Description

Duties and Tasks:

  • Teach 8 classes per year
  • Advise students
  • Assess, assist, and guide online adjunct CIS/CS faculty under the direction of the department chair
  • Assist with curriculum development
  • Assist with academic program reviews
  • Assist with university recruiting efforts
  • Undertake professional development and produce scholarly research
  • Undertake community service in keeping with the University's Benedictine values
  • Teach on-ground, online, evening, and weekend classes as needed
  • Teach undergraduate and graduate courses
  • Participate in department, college, and university meetings and committees
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Department Chairperson and/or Dean

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:

Knowledge:

  • Completion of a PhD degree in Cybersecurity or a closely related field with an emphasis in Cybersecurity
  • Experience teaching classes at the undergraduate and graduate level
  • Experience in Penetration Testing
  • Experience in Computer Forensics
  • Experience in Network Security
  • Experience in Reverse Engineering
  • Experience in Digital/Mobile forensics
