Doane University, a liberal arts university in Crete, Nebraska, invites applications for a Visiting Assistant Professor of Chemistry and Biochemistry with expertise in Biochemistry and Organic chemistry to start August 2022. Teaching is 24 credit-hours over the two-semester, 9-month academic year.
The successful candidate will teach undergraduate Biochemistry I and II and Organic Chemistry I and II; all courses include in-person laboratory instruction. There will be opportunities for intradepartmental and interdepartmental collaboration for teaching and/or research. The Chemistry and Biochemistry department offers a wide range of modern instrumentation, including a 400 MHz NMR, FTIR, GC-MS and HPLC. The ideal candidate will have the skills to communicate well with faculty and students and must demonstrate a commitment to teaching in an undergraduate liberal arts setting. Doane University supports experimental, inclusive, and active-learning pedagogies. Candidates with prior teaching experience in biochemistry and/or organic chemistry are preferred.
