This position is based in the following office location:Manchester, NH
Southern New Hampshire University's traditional campus is seeking an Assistant Professor of Elementary Education. The preferred candidates will have significant experience and expertise in each of these fields and are expected to hold licensure and maintain teaching licensure in their fields while serving as members of our faculty. They must be able to model lessons, collaboration, intervention strategies in classrooms and know how to integrate technology to support and extend learning. They will teach in our campus-based programs, collaborate with faculty, and be fully immersed in teaching, as well as advising our undergraduate students.
Essential duties and responsibilities of this position include the following:
Teach a range of general education courses in undergraduate licensure programs
Advise undergraduate students in various fields and related certification areas
Model lessons in field-based courses in public school classrooms
Model collaboration and intervention strategies in field-based courses in public school classrooms
Integrate technology to support and extend teaching and learning
Work collaboratively within the department and across campus as a member of a dynamic team of teacher educators
Current licensure in appropriate field
An earned master's degree and demonstrated excellence in teaching
Minimum of five years teaching experience in a public school setting
Dual licensure in special education
Experience teaching in higher education
Earned doctorate in a relevant field
