The Opportunity:

Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University's Prescott, Arizona campus is accepting applications for a tenure-track assistant or associate-level professor of risk assessment/data analytics to teach quantitative risk analysis and data analytics to students in the Global Security and Intelligence program. Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University's Prescott Campus is respected worldwide for cutting-edge instruction and training for tomorrow's aviation, aerospace, security and intelligence leaders. Prescott is a mile-high city and its climate reflects seasonable weather excellent for flying. Daytime averages are 80°F in the summer and 45°F in the winter. At 5,000 ft. above sea level, it boasts a mild climate, clean air, pristine wilderness areas, and nearby national forests. The university is a small, private, residential university in the mountains of Arizona with approximately 3,500 students. Staff/faculty/student interaction is highly valued and is a central theme of our campus. It is located 100 miles north of Phoenix and 120 miles south of the Grand Canyon.

Prior experience working as an intelligence or security analyst in either the public or private sectors is preferred.

As a faculty candidate, you should demonstrate excellence in teaching upper and lower level undergraduate courses. As a teaching-focused university, faculty typically teach three to four courses per semester. In addition to teaching, there is an expectation for university service such as mentoring and committee service as well as active engagement in scholarly and professional activities. Excellent interpersonal skills, written and oral communications skills and a strong command of the English language are required.

We are interested in candidates with teaching acumen in qualitative and quantitative risk and data analytics. Experience with i2 Analyst's Notebook is strongly preferred and experience with other data analytics tools such as Python, R, SAS, and Tableau is a plus.

Qualifications

The successful candidate should have a master's degree or Ph.D. in Risk Management, Analytics, Data Science, or a related quantitative field (Mathematics, Statistics, Computer Science) and 5 years of work experience analyzing risk in either the public or private sector.
