Brief Summary of Work for
this PositionThe Congdon School of Supply Chain, Business Analytics and Information Systems at the University of North
Carolina Wilmington is seeking a nine-month, tenure-track Assistant or Associate Professor starting on August 1 2023.
The ideal candidate
must be able to teach hands-on classes primarily at least in three of the following areas: cybersecurity program management, cybersecurity
strategy, cybersecurity risk management, supply chain cybersecurity, cybersecurity policy, cloud security, SOC Operations, threat hunting,
and web application security. Secondary teaching areas are operating systems security, network security, applied cybersecurity, forensics,
wireless security, mobile security, SCADA/IoT, offensive cyber operations, active cyber defense, incident response, cyber threat
intelligence, cyber law, cyber politics, cyber fraud, security analytics, cryptography, ethical hacking, pentesting, threat hunting,
vulnerability management, CISA, CISSP.

The successful candidate will teach introductory, intermediate, and advanced courses that support
the department's programs, supervise capstone projects, advise majors, and develop a research program that engages undergraduate and
graduate students. The standard teaching load is 18 credit hours per year.
Minimum Education and Experience
RequirementsThe successful candidate will have a PH.D. degree in Cybersecurity, Information Systems, or a related area from
a Nationally Accredited University (anticipated completion of the terminal degree no later than July 2023 for a Fall 2023 start is
acceptable) and demonstrate the ability to excel in teaching while maintaining a program of research/scholarly activity that involves
students.
Demonstrated success in working with diverse populations. A focused research agenda with an established record of publication
or strong potential for publication is expected.
Preferred Education, Knowledge, Skills &
ExperiencePreference will be given to candidates who have the following qualifications:
* Experience in developing and
implementing curricula related to cybersecurity.
* Proficient in teaching face to face and online undergraduate and graduate
courses.
* Successful research program and grant activity with a clear research trajectory.
* Experience involving students in
research projects.
* Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with constituents across the school, college, and university.

Cybersecurity related industry certifications
* Ability to teach in the area of cybersecurity fundamentals and at least three of the
following areas: cybersecurity program management, cybersecurity strategy, cybersecurity risk management, supply chain cybersecurity,
cybersecurity policy, cloud security, SOC Operations, threat hunting, digital forensics, cyber fraud, security analytics, and web
application security.
Primary Function of Organizational UnitCongdon School of Supply Chain, Business
Analytics and Information Systems supports the Bachelor of Science with concentrations in Business Analytics, Information Systems and Supply
Chain Management, Bachelor of Science in Information Technology, and Bachelor of Science in Cybersecurity. At the graduate level, the School
supports the Master of Business Administration, Master of Science in Computer Science and Information Systems and Master of Science in
Business Analytics.
The National Security Agency (NSA) and Department of Homeland Security (DHS) designated UNCW in 2018 as a National
Center of Academic Excellence in Cyber Defense Education (CAE-CDE). The cybersecurity program at UNCW is robust and flourishing, with five
current offerings across the university: IT Major with Cybersecurity Concentration, CS Major with Security Concentration, Cybersecurity
Minor (open to all majors), MBA with Cybersecurity Specialization, and Cybersecurity Major (starting fall 2022 - first cybersecurity
undergraduate major offered in the UNC system). Cybersecurity and IT majors are hybrid programs offered by CS and IS
faculty.
