Job Description:

The Department of Biology at Worcester State University invites applications for a one-year full-time faculty position to begin September 1, 2022. The successful candidate will have lecture and laboratory teaching responsibilities that may include introductory courses for nonmajors and Biology majors, 200-level core courses for Biology majors, and possibly an upper-level elective course in the candidate's area of specialization. The candidate will be expected to advise undergraduate students and to participate in Biology Department meetings and service activities. Candidates with a Ph.D. will be hired with the title of Visiting Assistant Professor; those with a master's degree will be hired with the title of Visiting Instructor.



  • Master's degree in some area of the biological sciences required; Ph.D. strongly preferred
  • College/university-level teaching experience strongly preferred
  • Candidates with experience teaching human biology, microbiology, or introductory biology (organismal and/or cellular and molecular) are especially encouraged to apply.
