Job Description

The Biology Department at Hope College is seeking a Physiologist for a Visiting Assistant Professor position beginning August 2022. The individual will be responsible for teaching lecture and laboratory courses in physiology, including Introduction to Human Physiology, to both majors and non-majors. The individual should be able to teach an upper level course in physiology/organismal biology and/or able to teach in the introductory biology laboratory sequence. The individual will be responsible for coordinating with other physiology lecture instructors and the physiology lab coordinator to ensure a consistent student experience across multiple sections and semesters.

Qualifications

Candidates should have a Ph.D. in Physiology or a related field with experience in undergraduate instruction of majors/non-majors in physiology. The ideal candidate should share a commitment to liberal arts education in the context of the Christian faith.

This position requires remaining in a sitting or standing position for frequent periods of time; uses office machinery such as a computers, printers, copy machines; Occasionally involves moving items over 10 pounds; frequently will move between different offices/workspaces/buildings; and requires effective communication abilities.
