The School of Business at Black Hills State University invites applications for a full-time assistant professor of economics. The
position is a one-year term appointment for the 2022-2023 academic year (August 2022-May 2023). Black Hills State University is a teaching
focused University, with faculty positions having defined responsibilities in teaching, scholarship/research and service (University,
professional and community).
The School of Business offers undergraduate business programs in Business
Administration with specializations in accounting, economics, entrepreneurial studies, human resource management, management and marketing
as well as Professional Accountancy and an MBA. The BHSU School of Business earned AACSB accreditation of its
Business Administration, Professional Accountancy, and MBA programs in May 2014, and was reaffirmed in 2019.
DUTIES:
*Teach 4 undergraduate courses in economics per semester. This will include face-to-face at the main campus, online,
and a possibly at the branch campus in Rapid City. Courses will consist of principles of economics and select upper-level economics courses.
*Participate in student advising
*Participate in service activities
QUALIFICATIONS:
*Masters' degree in economics or ABD
*Willingness to teach online
*Successful teaching
experience, potential to publish in peer-reviewed journals, and strong collegial and collaborative skills required
*Willingness
to teach two or more courses from the following: Intermediate Microeconomics, Managerial Economics, Money and Banking, Economic
Development.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
*PhD in economics
