Springfield College invites applications for a one-year full-time 12-month position of Assistant Professor of Clinical Education in Physician Assistant (PA) Studies, beginning in August 2022.

Applicants must have a minimum of a master's degree, NCCPA certification, eligibility for licensure as a PA in Massachusetts, and at least two years of clinical experience.  The ideal candidate will possess exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, be knowledgeable about challenges and opportunities in PA clinical education, and provide evidence of commitment to scholarship and the ability to collaborate and work in an interprofessional team environment. A doctoral degree, teaching experience in higher education, and technological skills to support teaching and scholarship strengthen candidacy. Applicants with expertise and interest in support of the College's commitment to an increasingly diverse campus are of particular interest.

The new hire's primary responsibilities will be to provide clinical education coordination, and medical guidance for PA clinical program components, and to ensure that supervised practicum instruction meets current ARC-PA standards. Responsibilities also include clinical site visits, participation in clinical assessment and procedures laboratories, student advisement, scholarship, service, and some didactic teaching. Engagement in off-campus clinical practice for up to one day per week is allowed and encouraged.

The School of Health Sciences includes programs in Communication Sciences and Disorders, Gerontology, Health Science, Occupational Therapy, Physician Assistant Studies, Physical Therapy, and Public Health.
