Salary range is based on courses taught per year and courses previously taught at Santa Clara University. This position requires a commitment of at least 2/3 time.

Purpose:

Purpose

The Department of Education at Santa Clara University, a Jesuit Catholic institution, seeks to hire an Adjunct Annual Lecturer/Dean's Executive Professor in its Education Leadership program. The responsibilities of the position will be equal to a teaching load of up to nine courses over four academic quarters.

The purpose of this position is to direct the Administrative Services Credential programs (Preliminary and Clear), teach courses in the programs, keep abreast of CalAPA requirements and guide students through the CalAPA and credentialing process. The faculty member will be a full member of an Educational Leadership faculty that consists of three additional full-time faculty and other professionals in the field who serve as Quarterly Adjunct Lecturers.

Salary

Salary range is based on courses taught per year and courses previously taught at Santa Clara University. This position requires a commitment of at least 2/3 time.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Terminal (doctoral) degree preferred, M.A. considered in education, educational leadership or related field
  • Five years of leadership experience in K-12 settings
  • Experience in a higher education setting
  • Commitment to social justice and equity education
Responsibilities

The position includes, but is not limited to, the following responsibilities:

Teaching:
  • Teach multiple courses in either the Masters or EdD program. The successful candidate should be able to teach a variety of leadership and administrative focused courses related to K-12 Education.
Administrative Service:

The position may also be able to assist the department by leading various programs for both degree and non-degree seeking students. Programs may include
  • Masters program assistance
  • Credential programs (Preliminary and Clear Administrative Services Credential)
  • CalAPA assistance
Student & Development:
  • Advise students as requested
  • Coordinate, advise, suggest revisions and/or updates to the Handbook.
