Job Overview

As one of the oldest medical schools in the country, the UC College of Medicine has a reputation for training best-in-class health care professionals and developing cutting-edge procedures and research that improves the health and clinical care of patients. The Department of Surgery, Division of Cardiac Surgery, and Heart, Lung and Vascular Institute at the University of Cincinnati College of Medicine is seeking a full-time academic cardiac surgeon with experience to join a growing practice. The successful applicant will be provided with competitive salary and benefits.

Essential Functions
  • Evaluate and treat cardiac patients in a clinical setting.
  • Conduct patient rounds.
  • Perform cardiac surgery, including ventricular assist device implantation, heart transplantation, off pump all-arterial coronary bypass procedures, and aortic arch surgery.
  • Teach medical students, general surgery residents and thoracic surgery residents and fellows in the Division of Cardiac Surgery.
  • Participate in cardiothoracic research efforts.
Minimum Requirements

Prior to effective date of appointment:
  • Medical degree (MD).
  • Completion of a five-year cardiovascular surgery residency program.
  • Completion of two years of post-graduate cardiac surgery fellowship.
  • 10 years of experience in anaortic and complete arterial coronary bypass surgery, minimally invasive coronary surgery and advanced aortic arch surgery.
  • Possession of a valid Ohio medical license.
