Job Description


The Athletic Equipment Manager P9, under general direction, maintains complete oversight of athletic equipment and apparel purchases for intercollegiate sports. Oversees all phases of business contracts as they pertain to athletic equipment and apparel. Performs all duties consistent with the management of a major NCAA Division I Football program, including sizing, issuing, maintaining and performing inventory of all football equipment.


Responsibilities:



  • Procures, directs, and coordinates a variety of duties dealing with the purchasing, distribution, transportation, cleaning, maintenance, repair and liquidation of athletic equipment and uniforms to all student athletes for all athletic programs.
  • Oversees and coordinates all game day equipment preparations and setup for games. Ensures that all uniforms and related apparel and equipment are maintained in a clean and serviceable condition.
  • Supervises student equipment managers. Establishes and ensures communication and enforcement of rules and regulations for all student workers supervised.
  • Maintains continual and thorough familiarity with all applicable NCAA, Conference and University rules and regulations.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Required Education & Experience:



  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Three years of related experience.

Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:



  • Knowledge of football equipment (sizing, inventory).
  • Ability to multitask and work cooperatively with others.

Preferred Requirements:



  • AEMA Certification

Other Requirements:



  • This position may be required to work nights, weekends, and holidays.

Special Requirements:



  • Applicants with equivalent experience in lieu of a Bachelor's degree may be considered. One year of the related experience is the equivalent of one college year. Applicants being considered for the equivalency must have four years of related experience to meet the equivalency in lieu of a Bachelor's degree plus the minimum required years of experience. Applicants being considered for the equivalency must have a total of seven years of experience.
