Position Introduction | Join the summer fun at MCC as a Kids and College summer camp counselor/teaching assistant. You'll work directly with students providing assistance in the classroom and helping Instructors with all classroom needs. |

Essential Functions and Responsibilities | - Provide assistance in classroom by working with students and helping instructors with all classroom needs - Teaching assistant for academic and enrichment classes - Provide a safe and positive environment for the participants of the program - Greet students and parents - Assist and direct children to classrooms - Monitor children's lunch break (12pm-1pm) - Facilitate group activities for students during any free time - Mediate conflicts that arise between members of your group - Notify instructors and management staff of any problems that arise - Be familiar with and follow the guidelines set forth in the counselor manual/training and parent paperwork - Be a positive role model and mentor for all children - Work in cooperative manner with your colleagues - Perform other related duties as assigned |
Required Education | High School graduate or equivalent |
Other Required Qualifications | - High School Graduate or equivalent, plus specialized training. - Must be 18 yrs. of age to serve as a counselor - Experience and expertise in subject area assisting in (ex.: Digital Media classes- background in technology/computer science) - Commitment to the mission of the community college and to teaching and motivating students in ways appropriate to their diverse backgrounds and learning styles - Ability to lift 10 pounds unassisted and work safely following safety guidelines |
