Edith Cowan University (ECU) is seeking to appoint a new Director, Human Resources.

About the Opportunity

The Director, Human Resources is a trusted adviser and people leader, who will foster innovation and enterprise leadership in both strategic and operational human resource management. This position will collaborate across the university and lead the effective planning and delivery of human resource services, drive best practice, and roadmap initiatives to support the wider strategy and outcomes of the university.

The Human Resources Services Centre plays a key role in facilitating and supporting the University to effectively achieve its priorities and empower the talent and potential of our staff, to create a workplace that is welcoming, diverse, inclusive and safe.

About You

  • You are an energetic HR leader who is innovative in their practices, proactively seeks out challenges and naturally problem solves by always thinking outside the box; 
  • You enjoy collaborating with passionate people who want to make a difference through teaching and/or research; 
  • You have an excellent ability to build rapport quickly and know the importance of taking time to build trusted and strategic partnerships; 
  • You are a natural influencer, who is able to communicate with diverse stakeholders to drive change and achieve a shared purpose;  
  • You will have proven record and significant experience in delivering outcomes through human resource strategy and contemporary HR thinking and practices; 
  • You will demonstrate prior success in leading diverse HR teams and delivering strategic priorities;  
  • You are an inclusive, values-driven collaborator and strategic thinker who operates with integrity and values self-awareness and continued personal growth; and  
  • You demonstrate personal attributes that align with ECU's values of Integrity, Respect, Rational Inquiry, Personal Excellence and Courage.
