Job Description

The Procurement Buyer Specialist procures for the various areas of Baltimore City Community College.   The position conducts all procurement activities follow BCCC's procurement policies and procedures, the State delegated authority, and COMAR Title 21.  This position will be required to procure equipment, services, construction, supplies, information technology, and other services through various procurement methods. This position will be responsible for drafting specifications, soliciting, evaluating, negotiating, awarding, monitoring, and administrating contracts.  This position does not supervisor.

This position requires to work on-campus. 

Preferred and Required Qualifications

  1. A minimum of four years in procurement involving duties such as: soliciting, evaluating, negotiating, and awarding contracts and ensuring compliance with governmental procurement laws, regulations, and conditions.
  2. Associate degree from an accredited college/university. 
  3. Position will be required to obtain the State's Certified Maryland Procurement Officer (CMPO) within a year after hire.

Note: Candidates may substitute professional procurement experience, on a year-for-year basis, for the required education.
