Director, Dental Hygiene Degree Program

The Faculty of Dentistry invites applications for a full-time Director of the Dental Hygiene Degree Program (DHDP) in the Department of Oral Biological and Medical Sciences, Division of Dental Hygiene at UBC. The appointment will be at the rank of Assistant Professor of Teaching, with consideration of a higher rank depending on qualifications. This is a tenure-stream position.
Applicants must be dental hygienists with significant university-level administrative, teaching, and curriculum management experience as well as proven leadership in the Dental Hygiene profession. Applicants must hold a minimum of a Masters degree in Dental Hygiene or a closely related discipline. Preference will be given to applicants with a PhD or EdD. Applicants require a minimum of 5 years of dental hygiene practice experience and must be, or eligible to be, registered by the College of Dental Hygienists of BC. The successful applicant is expected to be engaged in teaching, educational scholarship, and administrative duties.
The successful candidate must possess strong communication, leadership, and collaboration skills to enable the DHDP to maintain its reputation as the leading Canadian university dental hygiene degree program. The Program Director must effectively interact with other programs in the Faculty and university and participate in an integrated approach to Faculty of Dentistry policies and procedures.
