Position Focus:
Reporting to the Manager, Title IX Prevention, Education, & Outreach in the Office of the Secretary and Vice President for University Life, the Title IX Program Specialist performs a lead role in planning, managing and executing Title IX-related programming, communications, and case management initiatives. Title IX is a comprehensive federal law that prohibits discrimination on the basis of sex in any federally-funded education program or activity. This position is responsible for developing and implementing Title IX-related education initiatives including sexual misconduct prevention and awareness programming that complies with federal and state requirements. This position is also responsible for developing and maintaining Title IX-related communications and, in collaboration with the Senior Deputy Title IX Coordinator, supports the implementation of a case management system for Title IX complaints.

Essential Duties:
1. Works closely with leadership, internal and external colleagues, and community members to advance the mission and objectives of the Title IX program. 2. Identifies, solicits, and cultivates community partnerships and collaborations to assist in the development and growth of Title IX programming. Assumes accountability for disseminating and publishing program information to create public awareness and support of the program. 3. Develops and implements methods to identify and measure the effectiveness of Title IX programs. Recommends structural or programmatic adjustments, changes or additions based on results of these assessments. 4. Develops and implements systems to gather, track, and report information to support the initiatives of the program, and regularly informs leadership of progress on each initiative. 5. Initiates, designs, and manages the program communications; identifying outreach potential, and promoting collaborative support of the program. Contributes to the development and assists in the management of content on the program’s website and other publications and monitors all changes and additions to the editorial content. 6. In collaboration with the Senior Deputy Title IX Coordinator, provides case management support, including developing and maintaining systems to track and manage Title IX complaints from disclosure through resolution. Develops and implements case-related reporting to support the activities of the Title IX coordinators and leadership. 7. May perform other duties as assigned.

Preferred and Required Qualifications

Required Education and Experience:
Bachelors Degree in a related field and four years of related experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Required Skill/Ability 1:

Ability to lead programmatic work and advancing complex initiatives in an institution of higher education.

Required Skill/Ability 2:

Demonstrated ability to successfully plan, lead and execute complex projects while building consensus among multiple stakeholders. Demonstrated ability to prioritize and meet multiple, competing responsibilities and deadlines.

Required Skill/Ability 3:

Demonstrated ability to work autonomously and independently, while also being able to work as part of a team. Commitment to an inclusive workplace. Ability to engage with diverse audiences (age, gender, nationality, race/ethnicity, profession, etc.).

Required Skill/Ability 4:

Strong experience in writing, verbal and presentation skills. Ability to maintain strict confidentiality and approach sensitive issues with professionalism and tact.

Required Skill/Ability 5:

Demonstrated facility and comfort with learning new technologies.

Preferred Education, Experience and Skills:
Master’s degree preferred. Experience handling student conduct issues and case management in an institution of higher education. Experience delivering educational programming in a higher education environment.
