Job Overview

The Office of the Provost is looking for a Director of Faculty Affairs Administration (DFAA). This staff position will support the rotating Vice Provost for Faculty in guiding the strategic direction for faculty affairs on Georgetown University's Main Campus. Preference for candidates with experience in business process improvement and data analytics in higher education. This position is a perfect leadership opportunity to collaborate with senior leadership across the institution on faculty HR policy and oversee all day-to-day aspects of the Office of Faculty Affairs; faculty appointments, compensation processing, annual reviews, leaves, promotions, and retirements.

Work Interactions

  • Responsible for daily operational activities of the office. Monitors processes; responsible for working with staff to maintain and meet deadlines; maintains work schedules of team;
  • Manages a wide range of faculty affairs processes, including but not limited to: hiring and initial appointment, reappointment, rank & tenure, memorandum of understanding between academic units, compensation processing, sabbaticals and leaves, and retirement
  • Oversees the operation and maintenance of faculty files, databases, and operations.
  • Maintains faculty affairs website.
  • Communication with faculty, senior associate deans of schools, and other offices such as the Main Campus Finance Office, the Office of University Counsel, Faculty and Staff Benefits, University Information Services.

 

 

Preferred and Required Qualifications



Requirements and Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree with 7 -10 years of experience working with higher education academic affairs.
  • Proven experience managing Academic Human Resource policies.
  • Engaging Leadership: Ability to influence to achieve objectives of continuous improvement.
  • Expert user of advanced MS Word, functions including document set up and production, template, mail merge, edit/track changes functions, import and creation of graphs and charts.
  • Expert working knowledge of Workday
  • Advanced Excel skills and working knowledge of administering databases, SQL, and Tableau Desktop Certification (strongly preferred).
  • Experience with maintaining and managing logical electronic (and paper) storage and filing processes.
  • Strong Data Analytics modeling experience
  • Proficiency in design systems and processes solutions
  • Communication and Interpersonal skills: Ability to inspire confidence and shows political acumen.
  • Problem Solving: Ability to implement relevant solutions to situational problems or changes
  • Innovation: Ability to identify innovation and improvement opportunities



Preferred requirements and qualifications

  • Master's degree with 5 years of experience in Higher Ed
