Job Summary:The EO and Title IX Coordinator is the designated campus official responsible for leading and managing all aspects of the University's Equal Opportunity and Title IX compliance obligations in accordance with the University's mission and valuesEO. The Coordinator is responsible for overseeing policies, processes, procedures, and training related to these areas and will work with the campus community to assure compliance with EO and Title IX regulations. This includes overseeing and monitoring compliance with University policies related to EO and Title IX; implementing complaint procedures, including notification, investigation and disposition of complaints; providing educational materials and training for the University community; conducting and/or coordinating investigations of complaints received pursuant to EO or Title IX; ensuring a fair and neutral process for all parties; and monitoring all other aspects of the University's EO policies and procedures and Title IX compliance. This includes coordinating investigations into all complaints by any member of the Regis University community against any other member based in whole or in part on one's race, color, religion, national origin, creed, ancestry, age, marital status, sexual orientation, military or veteran status, physical or mental disability, genetic information, or any characteristic protected by applicable local, state, or Federal law (collectively with sex and gender discrimination “discrimination”).

Major Duties and Responsibilities:
Specific duties and responsibilities of the EO and Title IX Coordinator shall include, but not be limited to the following:

• Coordinate the University's Title IX and other antidiscrimination efforts including the development, implementation, and monitoring of appropriate disclosures, policies, procedures and practices designed to comply with federal and state legislation, regulation, and case law requiring the prompt and equitable resolution of all complaints pursuant to applicable laws;
• Provide direction for all activities and personnel of the EO Title IX program including consulting with relevant policy-making bodies and senior personnel for the purpose of advising, clarifying and identifying necessary action to eliminate protected class discrimination in all educational programs and activities, to ensure that access to facilities, opportunities, and resources is equitable throughout the district or campus;
• Provide ongoing training, consultation, and technical assistance on nondiscrimination and sexual misconduct policies for all students and employees, with specialized training content for Title IX adjudicators;
• Work with appropriate offices (e.g., Legal, Student Life and Athletics) to develop, implement and coordinate campus and/or school-based strategic efforts aimed at the prevention of sexual violence and other forms of sex and/or gender-based discrimination;
• Develop and disseminate educational materials that inform members of the school or campus community (students, faculty, administrators staff, and parents) of Title IX rights, responsibilities and resources both within and external to school/campus premises;
• Provide mandated internal and external referrals to complainants of sexual misconduct and other forms of discrimination;
• Assist with monitoring institutional compliance with and provide ongoing consultation on Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act of 1973 and related federal and state laws prohibiting discrimination and harassment against all protected classes;
• Accept all complaints and referrals regarding discrimination from all Regis University employees and students;
• Keep accurate records of all discrimination complaints and referrals for the required time period according to the law and the University's record retention policy;
• Conduct or oversee investigations into allegations of discrimination to the level required under DOE regulations;
• Collaborate with campus departments to evaluate and execute interim measure requests designed to enhance safety and minimize the impact of alleged discrimination;
• Ability to identify witnesses and interview relevant witnesses;
• Excellent interpersonal skills to build rapport with investigation parties and witnesses;
• Calm and steady temperament during interviews and situations that can be highly emotional;
• Ability to identify legal issues, recognize imminent safety concerns, determine the scope of a complaint, gather and analyze information, synthesize that information in a comprehensive report and make findings of fact;
• Ability to assess credibility when necessary;
• Identify specific corrective measures to stop, remediate, and prevent discrimination;
• Make recommendations for corrective measures including training, counseling and/or discipline, when appropriate;
• Refer any recommendation for discipline to Human Resources or Student Life, as appropriate, for implementation in accordance with University policy;
• Oversee implementation of corrective measures, which may include follow-up to ensure that appropriate action was taken to complete the recommended actions;
• Organize and maintain grievance files, disposition reports, and other records regarding Title IX compliance, including annual reports of the number and nature of filed complaints and the disposition of said complaints, data collection, climate assessment, pattern monitoring; and
• Serve as principal contact for government inquiries pursuant to Title IX and discrimination claims;
• Other duties as assigned by the AVP of Human Resources.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

• 5 years of progressively responsible experience in complaint resolution, higher education administration, human resources management, or EEO compliance, including significant experience handling investigations related to sexual harassment, discrimination and/or sexual violence.
• Solid and demonstrated understanding of federal and state EO laws and regulations;
• Completion of a minimum of a Master's Degree at a regionally accredited institution in a related field, or equivalent combination of education and related experience.
• Record of exercising excellent judgment on behalf of clients including large and complex organizations and issues.
• Commitment to the highest ethical and professional standards; personal and professional integrity beyond reproach; unquestioned discretion in maintaining confidentiality.
• Excellent written and oral communications skills in public and private settings with diverse audiences; ability to translate complex regulatory issues for a lay audience.
• Strong leadership and interpersonal skills, able to collaborate with a diverse population, and ability to relate well with senior administrators, students, faculty, staff, and government officials.
• Leadership at Regis University also requires a strong, personal resonance with the mission of the University, especially with its Catholic and Jesuit values.

Additional Preferred Qualifications:

• Juris doctorate degree.
• Significant experience in higher education regulatory matters.
• Experience conducting Title IX or workplace investigations.
• Experience mediating conflicts.

Pay Rate:$75,000 to $80,000/year commensurate with qualifications
