Job Summary
The Coordinator of New Student and Family Programs provides assistance to the Assistant Director of New Student and Family Programs in all aspects of planning, developing, and implementing all new student orientations (SOAR), family orientations, and family events on the Statesboro Campus.

Due to the Governor's approval for the Cost of Living Adjustment to Fiscal Years 2022 and 2023, final salaries at the time of hire may be impacted, but will not be lower than what is advertised.

Responsibilities
  • Plans and implements new student orientation (SOAR) programming for new undergraduate students and their supporters, requiring strong campus-wide collaborations.
  • Advise more than 20 undergraduate SOAR leaders and SOAR returners includes: recruiting, selecting, training, supervising, and managing overall student group development.
  • Draft and edit web, email, and print publications/communications and maintain online orientation software for new student orientation and transition programming.
  • Stay abreast of national trends in new student orientation and transition programs to ensure student needs are met, leading to their successful progression.
  • Assist in the planning and implementation of family programs, including two weekend events annually.
  • Support the Office of Admissions at on- and off-campus recruitment events and serves as an on-call counselor and gives daily information sessions

Required Qualifications
Educational Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree

Required Experience
  • Two (2) or more years of related work experience

Preferred Qualifications
Preferred Educational Qualifications
  • Master's Degree in Student Affairs, Higher Education or related field

Preferred Experience
  • Advisory and/or supervisory experience

Proposed Salary
$41,500 - $43,000

This position is non-exempt and paid on a biweekly basis
