Assistant Professor of German Studies. Ph.D. degree or foreign equivalent in Germanic Languages and Literatures, Comparative Literature, Jewish Studies, or related field. Teach all levels of German and at least one course a year in Jewish Studies. Established record of scholarship in eighteenth-to early twentieth-century Central and Eastern European Jewish cultures as demonstrated by a peer reviewed publication or conference presentation. Fluency in German and English required. Demonstrated ability to create a syllabi for a Jewish Studies course and an upper-level German language seminar required. Demonstrated ability to teach as shown by seminar presentation or experience, including ability to help with diversity on campus and articulate a clear contribution to the core value of creating a diverse and inclusive campus environment for all students, faculty, and staff.
