Work Schedule
Typically Monday through Friday, including some evenings, and the possibility of some weekend
days.
Major Work Characteristics/Summary of Position
Teaching
Is prepared to
create, modify and co-teach courses directly related to professional area of content expertise.
Plans, organizes, teaches, and
provides feedback to promote and direct student success. Responds to students in a timely manner. Communicates with students, departments
and university officials via university provided tools and resources.
Teaching to include coursework in area of expertise.
Mentors Student research projects as part of the HRS 8990 (Graduate Research) and HRS 8995 (Dissertation in Health Sciences) course
series.
Ability to contribute to the diversity, cultural sensitivity, and excellence of the University community through
teaching.
Scholarship
An active, ongoing scholarly agenda that serves to both enhance individual
accomplishments and contribute to lines of research for PhD students and candidates.
Will prepare, submit, and administrate
external funding to assist in completion of research agenda and to facilitate ongoing student research projects.
The ability to
serve as a research mentor and resource for department and college faculty.
Service to the Program, Department, College,
and University
Routine student advisement through the PhD in Health Sciences program.
Ability to mentor
dissertation committee members who are not currently part of the program in the expectations of dissertation committee members and what
dissertation projects (products) should look like.
Contribute to admissions decisions for the program as an ongoing process.
Contribute to the program curriculum committee to assist in guiding decisions that enhance program outcomes.
Contribute
to the Program Assessment Committee on an ongoing basis to impact outcome attainment reported on an annual basis.

Minimum Qualifications
PhD, EdD, DSc, or equivalent academic doctorate. Experience in
publication and grant writing.
Preferred Qualifications
The ability to seek funding through
government agencies.
