Job Description
The College of Arts, Sciences, and Education seeks a qualified faculty member to teach, mentor, and advise students at the undergraduate and graduate levels.  In particular, this position requires expertise in educational foundations and literacy (e.g., ESL/Reading Candidates should be committed to collegiality, scholarly work, and continuous improvement based on qualitative and quantitative data. Additionally, tenure-track faculty engage in service to the department, university, and discipline. A&M-Texarkana is committed to building a diverse faculty and encourage applications from traditionally underrepresented populations.

Required Qualifications:
  • Earned terminal degree in Education, Curriculum & Instruction, or closely related fields.
  • Minimum of three (3) years of K-12 teaching experience.
  • Hold or be eligible to obtain a valid Texas teaching and mid-management certificates.
  • Demonstrates knowledge of DEI/Cultural Competence.
  • Evidence of teaching accomplishment in K-12 setting.
  • Evidence of literacy experience.
  • Interest in and commitment to experiential learning.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience teaching online in higher education.
  • Knowledge of Science of Teaching Reading (STR).
  • Experience and eligibility to teach ED/ESL/Reading courses.
  • Demonstrates understanding of DEI/Cultural Competence.
