JOB SUMMARY:

Ramapo College of New Jersey seeks a pool of applicants for an Adjunct Professor position in medical interpreting Spanish beginning the Fall semester of 2022, as well as semesters in the future. We seek an interpreter whose passion and understanding of the field of interpretation, including interpreters' ethical codes, will prepare students for the interpreter's certification.

ADDITIONAL KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

• Knowledge of current teaching methods and online educational delivery tools, or a willingness to learn and implement them is required.
• Knowledge of and/or an understanding of the standards requirements by Certification Commission for Healthcare Interpreters and other accrediting agencies.

REQUIREMENTS:

EDUCATION:

• Graduation from an accredited college or university with a Master's degree in interpreting or related field is required.

EXPERIENCE:

• Experience in the Spanish language and the ability to teach translation and interpretation courses at the intermediate and advanced levels is required.
• Preference will be given to those that have demonstrated experience in translating/interpreting in health care and/or human services contexts.
