Job Description

Caldwell University invites applications for a full-time, Assistant Professor position in Chemistry. This opening  is housed in the School of Natural Sciences and is available starting Fall 2022. Primary teaching responsibilities will include introductory chemistry lecture and laboratory courses, and specialty courses.  Area of research expertise is open.  This position is funded by a five-year grant from the U.S. Department of Education's HSI STEM and Articulation Program and may be renewed annually subject to satisfactory performance.

We will expect the successful applicant to conduct wet lab research with undergraduates, contribute to developing future school programs, advise science majors, promote awareness of careers in STEM, provide service to the university community, assist with school activities, and continue scholarly growth and development. 

A Ph.D. in chemistry or a related discipline is required.  Undergraduate teaching experience, including online pedagogy, is highly desired.  Applicants must have a strong commitment to teach in a small university setting and the ability to work effectively with others in a collegial environment dedicated to student learning. Candidates must be willing to support the Dominican Catholic, liberal arts mission of the university.
