Position Summary

Dallas College is seeking an experienced, highly collaborative Senior Director of Talent Acquisition. This position will lead in the human resources efforts to in sourcing the best talent for Dallas College, as well as to maintain effective programs for supporting the employee-life cycle, including attracting, promoting, retaining, and supporting quality employees. The Senior Director of Talent will report directly to the Chief Human Resources Officer and will be responsible for demonstrating thought leadership on the development of recruiting methodologies and approaches and leading the implementation of new projects and initiatives related to talent acquisition.

Required Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

• Knowledge of the purpose of community colleges and the vision of Dallas College
• Experience leading or managing major change initiatives
• Ability to identify and address opportunities and challenges that arise as a result of Dallas College’s ongoing transition
• Demonstrated experience in the design, development and implementation of a talent acquisition strategy necessary to achieve business goals and results in the creation of an internal bench of top talent
• Ability to create and maintain an environment of equal employment opportunity, diversity and inclusion and competitive advantage in support of Dallas College
• Serve as a business partner with hiring managers to develop effective sourcing and recruitment strategies that result in client satisfaction
• Develop, initiate, and maintain effective programs for workforce attraction, retention and promotion
• Focus on continuous improvement to implement best industry practices in the Talent Acquisition discipline
• Provide excellent leadership and partnership to the various departments and stakeholders within the organization

Minimum Knowledge and Experience

• Bachelor's degree in human resources or related field
• 7-10 years+ years of broad HR experience including extensive practice in the field of talent acquisition
• Excellent proficiency with technical tools including Microsoft Office and other related tools
• Recent experience recruiting in multiple discipline areas and levels, including hiring for nonexempt, exempt and leadership positions
• Experience designing, developing, and supporting organization-wide talent acquisition strategies that include components such as development, coaching, and relationship management
• Experience in all areas of sourcing such as the internet, social media, networking, employee referrals, job postings, as well as conducting open houses and virtual job fairs
• Experience working with applicant tracking systems and affirmative action plan requirements
• Thorough understanding of recruiting methods and best practices, as well as applicable policies and federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations
• Proven experience working to promote equal opportunity as an employer of choice for current and potential workforce
• Superior verbal and written communication skills
• Excellent interpersonal, counseling, and negotiation skills
• Strong problem-solving skills
• SHRM-CP or SHRM-SCP is strongly preferred
• Current and valid Texas driver’s license required for offsite travel.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Ensure that organization-wide talent acquisition practices are focused and aligned on improving operational and program efficiencies and effectiveness
• Recruit full-time, part-time, temporary, contractual, and adjunct personnel
• Manage full life cycle recruitment (post, source, prescreen, schedule, background, references, offer, onboarding, etc.)
• Complete hiring process within defined metrics to minimize overall time-to-start
• Develop appropriate marketing strategies, define roles and responsibilities of hiring team, and develop service-level agreements to ensure an effective and efficient recruitment lifecycle while minimizing cost-per hire
• Work closely with the HRIS manager to collect and coordinate aggregate data for talent pool and translate those data into insights through data analysis that drives deliberate action plans at the appropriate levels
• Develop and implement creative and innovative sourcing strategies and techniques to build a pipeline of qualified candidates
