The University of Pennsylvania, School of Veterinary Medicine, Department of Clinical Sciences & Advanced Medicine, Section of Medicine invites qualified individuals to apply for an open faculty position in the Tenure Track (TT) in Animal Welfare and Behavior (AWB) at the rank of Assistant or Associate Professor. The strongest candidates for this position will have a record of, or clear potential for scholarship in, AWB science that includes extramural grants, studies, and program development. The successful candidate's primary area of focus might involve any number of AWB scientific fields including animal behavior and welfare science, cognitive neuroscience, and human-animal interaction, amongst others. However, a focus on companion animals will be preferred. Members of standing faculty in the Tenure Track (TT) are primarily devoted to research in their field of expertise. TT Faculty annually spend no more than 5-15% of their time in clinical patient care, teaching, and/or service. It is imperative that the candidate's primary and driving career interests and goals include scholarly accomplishment in the field, procurement of funding to support their research, and that they fully understand the duties and expectations specific to the TT track. In addition to scholarship, TT faculty also must excel in teaching and/or service.
