The Extension Associate, under general supervision, performs programmatic and outreach responsibilities for the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program-Education (SNAP-Ed). This position is located at 1600 B Smith Rd., Austin, TX 78721.This position is funded by a grant or restricted funds. Continued employment is contingent on the renewal of grant or restricted funds. Responsibilities:
Required Education and Experience:
- Responsible for executing and participating in county programs
- Assist Extension Agent(s) in activities of youth and adult enrollment such as, but not limited to performing various clerical task and providing support in secretarial duties; responsible for organizing files.
- Participate in trainings, demonstrations, and county meetings as required by supervisor.
- Help train volunteers .
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Bachelor's degree
- Two years of related experience.
Preferred Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Knowledge of word processing, database, presentation and spreadsheet applications.
- Ability to multitask and work cooperatively with others.
- Strong interpersonal and organizational skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Other: Social media management, video productions, and develop marketing materials.
