Job Description

The Reporting Analyst is responsible for extracting, validating, reviewing, analyzing and reporting data from a variety of sources to develop and enhance the department's databases. Primary duties consist of, but are not limited to, responding to incoming data requests and surveys, creating/maintaining a dataset of key variables, utilizing institutional data to produce reports necessary for key institutional measures such as the Fact Book, enrollment/graduation reports, ad hoc reports needed by the University community, and other reports needed for reporting to the Texas A&M University System (TAMUS), Texas Higher Education Coordinating Board (THECB) and other state and federal agencies.

Responsibilities:

  • Utilize SQL scripts, Excel and data visualization tools for extracting, collecting, validating, analyzing and reporting data to internal and external clients and to complete state and national surveys; identifying data gaps and creating new, updating existing, and formatting University data visualization reports for presentation to clients and to meet client data needs.
  • Prepare and submit routine and ad hoc reports in response to client data requests; preparing University Fact Book, university reports, and other campus documents for state and/or national agencies; updating reports to maintain current data for internal and external clients; maintaining department master reporting schedule and data reporting records; posting University reports to department website.
  • Coordinate the data collection process and compile data from University departments by identifying relevant variables, validating data, and completing surveys to report to external entities (CollegeBoard, College Portrait, Peterson's Guide, US News, IPEDS, THECB, NSF-NIH) and utilize for the development of new data reports.
  • Perform other job-related duties as assigned.



Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor's Degree in an applicable field.
  • Two years of related experience.



Preferred Experience:

  • Two years of related data management experience.



Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel.
  • Knowledge of Tableau, Argos, or other data management/data visualization tools.
  • Ability to multitask and work cooperatively with others to meet reporting deadlines.
  • Effective oral and written communication skills.
