Reporting to the Vice President of Advancement, the Director, Advancement serves as a chief strategist for and leads the Individual Giving and Alumni Engagement functions for Adler's Vancouver campus. The role develops and implements short- and long-range strategies for growing Adler's philanthropic revenue from private individual donors. The Director is charged with implementing Adler's private funder and stakeholder engagement strategy to increase and diversify the organization's individual donor base and implementing systems and processes that lead to effective moves management and donor stewardship. The Director leverages industry knowledge and best practices to promote the Office of Advancement's mission and vision and that of the institution. Supports culture development and management efforts.
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration or related discipline required.
- Minimum five (5) years' experience focused on fundraising or related profession required.
- Ability to consistently identify opportunities for improvement and make recommendations based on observations

- Prior board and volunteer management experience.
- Prior experience managing budgets and creating financial revenue projections.

- Ability to synthesize complex ideas into a coherent message to both external and internal audiences.

- Strong proficiency with Microsoft Office products and fundraising databases (Raiser's Edge preferred), with the ability to learn and master new technology and software programs as needed.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
Individual Giving Strategy
- Develops and oversees Adler's overall private individual funder and stakeholder engagement strategy, with a focus on increasing and diversifying the Adler's individual donor base including small to major gifts; create and implement internal processes that lead to effective and proactive moves management.
- Partners with members of the OIA team to set strategic direction for the Advancement function and ensure alignment and coordination of strategy across campaign activities.
- Serves as a key fundraising strategist, working in collaboration with key members of the executive and leadership teams to develop and execute sophisticated fundraising plans.
- Builds relationships across organization to communicate individual giving goals; Lead cross-organizational teams to support the cultivation, solicitation and stewardship of individual donors that support Adler's strategic objectives.
- Partners closely with the OIA team to develop and execute an expanded national alumni engagement strategy, to better engage Adler alumni in key markets.
- Ensures strategic engagement and cultivation of alumni donors through events, communications and other activities.
- Partners closely with Marketing to develop alumni communications strategies and associated collateral.
- Serves as key spokesperson for Adler with individual donors and prospects. Collaborate with senior staff to promote strong donor engagement.
- Oversees a robust portfolio of donor and prospect relationships focused on the top donors with individual capacity of $10K to $1M or more and serve as key strategist on cultivation and advancement of donor engagement.
- Coaches and supports development team members in portfolio management and donor engagement.\
