General Summary:
Under the supervision of the Director of Adult Basic Education and Literacy Services, the Tester/Advisor is responsible for the daily testing and advising of students entering the Adult Basic Education program of the Workforce Development and Continuing Education. The Tester/Advisor is responsible for signing in examinees, administering test instructions, and ensuring the integrity of the exam by proctoring appropriate examination (TABE Online/Paper, or CASA Online/Paper). Responsible for ensuring the security of the testing center by opening and closing the center prior to and after exams.
Check for appropriate identification and test registration paperwork. Responsible for setting up the appropriate test packages on the computers or paper/pencil in the testing center. Monitor students during testing. Navigate TABE/CASA Online to: create student tests, assign appropriate student tests to instructors, and distribute test reports. Enter and retrieve student information in the computer. Record exam results in the College's database and input data in the student files within designated timeframe. Communicate testing needs and issues as needed. Provide counseling and required information about test results. Travel to various locations to provide testing. Perform other duties as assigned by the Director of Adult Education.
Education:
Required: Associate degree
Minimum Experience:
One to 3 years of professional work experience in a customer service setting, Strong organizational skills with attention and a keen eye for details. Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills and the ability to interact effectively with diverse populations. Must have email skills and be familiar with Outlook.
Certification:
Required: Candidate is expected to take and pass a computer-based TABE & CASA certification exam within the first 30 days of employment.
