The Clinical Psychology PhD Program (Los Angeles area) is APA-accredited, adheres to a scholar-practitioner model, and trains students in a variety of theoretical orientations, including CBT, Psychodynamic, and Family Systems. We have three emphasis areas - Family/Child and Couples Emphasis (FACE), Multicultural Clinical and Community Psychology (MCCP), and Integrated Behavioral Health.
The PhD Program of the California School of Professional Psychology, Alliant International University is located in Alhambra, in the western San Gabriel region of Los Angeles County. Eight miles from the center of downtown, the Los Angeles campus gives students immediate access to the sprawling metropolis. The campus' surrounding area is a dynamic concentration of entertainment, business, and industry.

PROGRAM/SCHOOL DESCRIPTION
The Los Angeles Clinical Psychology PhD Program campus is located approximately 8 miles east of Downtown Los Angeles, in the city of Alhambra, embedded in a vibrant metropolitan area that is rich in culture and has wonderful weather year-round. Faculty interested in working with diverse communities find Los Angeles an ideal place for pursing their professional goals and to establish their career. Many maintain a small clinical or consulting practice while working for the PhD program, which allows them to remain engaged in the provision of direct services to clinical and/or consulting clients while holding an academic appointment. Faculty are expected to teach, chair dissertations, and participate in program activities during the Fall and Spring terms but have Summers off. They receive an annual stipend for their own professional development and can also apply for grants from the university for innovative programs or research they want to develop. All new hires begin contract with a seed grant to help start a new line of research. There is also opportunity for tuition waiver for Alliant courses leading to a degree or certificate for the employee, their children, and their spouse/partner.
