Job Summary
Perform cleaning services for University facilities while following established procedures and guidelines in maintenance of buildings, classrooms, offices, lavatories and restrooms. Conduct cleaning of assigned areas, furnishings and equipment using manual tools and electrically-powered machines.

Responsibilities

  • General Cleaning proficiency: clean and sanitize restrooms using established practices and procedures; clean, dust and wipe furniture; sweep, mop, vacuum floors; trash and waste removal; window and blind cleaning; cleaning building furnishings; clean interior walls by removing adhesive tape, thumb tacks, paper, pins, and similar items; washing walls when necessary with prescribed wall cleaners
  • Event support to include set up and take down as well as pre cleaning and post event clean up
  • Assist with set-up and take-down of facilities for meetings, classrooms, conferences and events
  • Building Security: Locking and unlocking assigned buildings and spaces; securing buildings when facilities are not in use; check for unlocked doors and windows, report any unauthorized occupants to management team
  • Follow instructions regarding usage of chemicals, supplies, and equipment
  • Removing recycling materials from assigned areas by collecting the recyclable materials from various containers; transporting and emptying materials to designated outside recycling dumpsters
  • Strip, clean, buff and apply floor sealer and finish to hard surface floors
  • Assist with inventory control and security

  • High school diploma or equivalent

  • One (1) year of related work experience


Proposed Salary
$11.39 per hour

  • Ability to train and implement usage of hand-held, precision, and power tools (i.e. brooms, mops, screwdrivers, floor buffers, leaf blowers)
  • Ability to correctly calculate appropriate quantity of chemicals to clean

  • Adhere to University policies and procedures to meet Institutional goals and support University's mission for student success


SKILLS

  • Effective communication (verbal and written), organizational and human relations skills
