Typical Work Schedule
This is a full-time, tenure-track faculty position that requires the successful candidate to teach a minimum of 30 credit hours per academic year. In addition, faculty schedule weekly conference hours and are otherwise available regularly for student inquiry. Service on college committees and participation in departmental, divisional, shared governance, and college-wide initiatives is required as well.

Our instructors collaborate within the College as discipline experts, helping the College to reach its strategic goals through active participation in college committees and by promoting the College to future students throughout our community.
Position Summary
Share your expertise in the accounting industry with MCC Accounting department. MCC instructors are higher education professionals who champion student learning. They assess student learning to ensure student success, staying abreast of current and emerging trends in the discipline. Our instructors collaborate within the College as discipline experts, helping the College to reach its strategic goals through active participation in college committees and by promoting the College to future students throughout our community.
Reports to Dean of Career and Technical Education
Essential Functions and Responsibilities
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Teach approximately 15 contact hours per semester. Courses taught include Basic Accounting procedures, Financial Accounting, Management Accounting, Intermediate Accounting I & II, Cost Accounting, Income Tax Accounting, Income Tax Advanced Computer Applications of Accounting, Principles of Finance, Handle Accounting Intensive Program.
- Assist in curriculum development through preparation of additional courses or seminars consistent with the needs of the community.
- Participate in the determination of appropriate computer courseware for use in Accounting courses. Assist in the evaluation and implementation of non-traditional teaching methods; e.g. online, scheduled online, blended and in-person. 
- Work with local industries and advisory committee that provides information necessary for future growth in the program.
- Work with colleagues in four-year institutions to facilitate articulation of appropriate courses with those institutions.
- General involvement as a faculty member in participatory college governance, advisement of students, and college committees.
Required Education Master's Degree from a regionally accredited institution
Other Required Qualifications
- Master's Degree in Business, Business Education, or Accounting. Qualifications to include 18 semester hours of Accounting coursework.
- A Bachelor's Degree in Business plus the C.P.A. or C.M.A. and 2000 hours of related work experience within the past five years is acceptable.
- Knowledge of computerized accounting systems.
- Knowledge of the recommended changes to accounting education as elucidated by the A.I.C.P.A. and the Accounting Education Change Commission is also desired.
- Commitment to the mission of the community college and working with beginning students.
- Demonstrated teaching experience.
