The appointee will teach undergraduate courses in Population and Demography and contribute to Population & Demography and Official Statistics Programmes of the School. He/she will contribute to building a stronger research profile for the school. The appointee will also work with other regional and international organisations, engage in consultancy services and contribute to the development of the Population and Demography program.
To be considered for this position, applicants must have:
For Appointment at the Lecturer level: A PhD in Population and Demography or related field and meeting the QOR at the Lecturer level and normally 4 years tertiary teaching experience. Preference will be given to those who already possess a teaching qualification and Postgraduate Certificate in Tertiary Teaching (PGCTT) or equivalent;
For Appointment at the Senior Lecturer level: Completed a PhD in Population and Demography or related field with either a formal tertiary teaching qualification and significant (normally 10 years) tertiary teaching experience.
Preference will be given to applicants with: Demonstrated field experience and knowledge of applied areas of Population and Demography and those with working knowledge of the Pacific region especially with regional or international organisations; and Proven high ranked research publications in the field of Population and Demography.
