The School of Government, Development and International Affairs at The University of the South Pacific seeks to appoint an Assistant Lecturer/ Lecturer to assist in teaching a compulsory course titled 'Ethics and Governance' UU200.
The appointee will be responsible for assisting in the coordination of UU200 in three modes (Face to Face, Blended and Online), preparing and delivering lectures, conducting tutorials and assessing student work. He/she will be expected to further develop a research profile preferably in an area intersecting with ethics and governance.
To be considered for Assistant Lecturer, applicants must have: a recent PhD and at least one ranked publication: or In exceptional cases, candidates with a Masters qualification and the Quality of Research threshold that meets the performance expectations of a lecturer and some year relevant Tertiary Teaching experience and Postgraduate Certificate in Tertiary Teaching (PGCTT) or equivalent; applicants must be a citizen of a USP member country.
To be considered for Lecturer, applicants must have: a PhD in one of the Social Sciences or Humanities and meeting the Quality of Research expectations of the lecturer level and normally 4 years tertiary teaching experience; preferences will be given to those who already possess a teaching qualification and Postgraduate Certificate in Tertiary Teaching (PGCTT) or equivalent.
Preference will be given to applicants with: Teaching experience in the areas of ethics and governance; Familiarity with flexible modes of delivery; Experience in designing and revising courses and some publications in peer-reviewed journals
