POSITION SUMMARY
The laboratory of Professor Christian Metallo, PhD is seeking an experienced and motivated research assistant to be a part of a multi-disciplinary team working to characterize how metabolic reprogramming contributes to cancer, neuropathy, and other pathologies. The successful candidate will support maintenance and operation of gas chromatography-mass spectrometry (GC-MS) systems for metabolomics analysis of cell, organoid, and tissue samples. The candidate will also develop analytical assays for stable isotope quantitation and assist senior scientists in operation and maintenance of LC-MS/MS systems within the lab. More generally, the candidate will interact with biologists, biochemists, and bioengineers in applying stable isotope tracing and metabolic flux analysis to these systems while working to develop computational pipelines to facilitate data analysis.

EXPERIENCE
Required
A minimum of 2 years of experience as a lab technician or equivalent related combination of education and experience. Experience with gas or liquid chromatography and single quad mass spectrometry or related analytical chemistry equipment. An interest in learning metabolic tracing and pathway analysis.
Preferred
Experience with mass spectrometry as well as data analysis using Graphpad Prism.
EDUCATION
Required
Bachelor's degree in chemistry, chemical engineering, or related field or equivalent work experience

A master's degree in biology or related field
