The primary teaching responsibilities of this position are to work collaboratively with other OT faculty members to coordinate and teach OT courses and train students. The position involves working effectively with a team of faculty to deliver a high-quality, engaging, and consistent experience across the OT program. Duties also include advising students, collaborate in developing and providing OT clinical services to train students. Clinical track faculty are not required to develop an active research program but are expected to be involved in scholarship activities and to utilize evidence based practice and teaching. Service responsibilities include collaborating with all members of the department to obtain and maintain accreditation and clinical placement sites. Additional services includes serving on university, college, and departmental committees and participating in activities that contribute to the community and the public affairs mission of the university.
Required qualifications include minimum of a masters degree; clinical practice as an occupational therapist; certification as an occupational therapist by the National Board of Certification in Occupational Therapy and eligibility for license in the state of Missouri; effective interpersonal and communication skills needed to lead a team toward goal achievement; successful candidate will have skills consistent with effective use of technology, working collaboratively with multiple constituents, and effective teaching. Successful candidate will demonstrate knowledge and understanding of multicultural and diversity issues.
