Paul D. Camp Community College is a small 2-year college in Southeast Virginia. Campuses are located in Franklin and Suffolk. There also is a center in Smithfield. The college offers associate degrees, certificates, and career studies certificates in transfer and career/technical programs; credit and non-credit workforce services and training for businesses and industries; special interest classes for the community; and summer classes for youth through the Regional Workforce Development Center. A dual enrollment program for high school students, online courses, and developmental studies classes are available at the college as well.
Camp is seeking a qualified individual to teach primarily early childhood courses that prepare students to enter the field of education or transfer into baccalaureate programs at participating universities. Full-time faculty responsibilities include teaching the equivalent of 15 credit hours per semester, which may include a mixture of day and night classes. Courses are in face-to-face, hybrid, and/or online formats. Other responsibilities include assisting with scheduling and staffing courses for the Teacher Education and Early Childhood Education programs, arranging and managing field placements/practicums for students, creating K-12 partnerships in the service region, and participating in advisory boards. The selected candidate will also lead course and program development and assessments, advise students, and actively serve on college committees.
Rank and Salary: Rank and salary dependent on academic credentials and work experience.
Position available: August 16, 2022. This is a full-time nine month teaching position.
