Job Description

In collaboration with the HUB Director, the Registered Dietitian Nutritionist will provide services at our Healthcare HUB. This is an exciting opportunity to build the program from the ground up.

D’Youville is launching a new Health Professions Hub to provide a healthcare services, educational and workforce development opportunities, and new connections to the surrounding neighborhood. In collaboration with the HUB Director, the Registered Dietitian Nutritionist will provide community group nutrition education, cooking classes, cooking demonstrations as well as individual nutrition counseling. This role also includes providing wellness program content and services for rehabilitation and wellness, precepting students in the Nutrition and Dietetics program, and coordinating additional health and wellness services as needed. The registered dietitian nutritionist will report to the chairperson of Nutrition and Dietetics and the Director of the Healthcare HUB. This role will begin at .5FTE with an opportunity to grow to 1.0 FTE.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Plans and coordinates group and individual nutrition services.
  • Provides group nutrition and cooking classes/demonstrations as well as individual nutrition counseling.
  • Develops nutrition education materials and recipes for use with patient population.
  • Oversees demonstration kitchen operations.
  • Precepts nutrition and dietetics students.
  • Bills for services.
  • Act as a liaison and partners with team members in the HUB and Nutrition and Dietetics academic department at D’Youville College

Required Qualifications:

  • Current Registered Dietitian Nutritionist (RDN) credential from the Commission on Dietetic Registration (CDR).
  • Master’s degree.
  • Certified Dietitian Nutritionist in New York State.
  • Certified Diabetes Educator credential.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Fluency in Spanish or an additional language and/or experience working with various cultural backgrounds.
  • Experience providing community group nutrition or individual nutrition services, billing for services, and managing food operations.
  • ServSafe® certification
