The Lewis Katz School of Medicine at Temple University has experienced dramatic growth in the breadth and scope of its research enterprise over the past decade. As part of its strategic plan and with the support of a successful recent capital campaign, our scientists have been responsible for ground-breaking advancements in areas across the scientific spectrum, including: Cancer Biology, Cardiovascular and Thrombosis, Cell and Developmental Biology, Clinical Lung Research, HIV, Immunology and Autoimmunity, Metabolic Syndrome and Diabetes, Neuroscience, Substance Abuse and Translational Medicine.
Restructured in February 2021 with faculty experts representing multiple disciplines in each department, the Basic Science Departments at the Lewis Katz School of Medicine follow a contemporary construct. The aims of the structure are to optimize teaching and curricular evolution, advance mentoring and faculty development, and boost research productivity through novel interdisciplinary collaboration.
We are always seeking qualified faculty candidates from diverse backgrounds and under-represented groups who can contribute through their clinical care, research, teaching, and/or service to the diversity and excellence of the academic community.
