Primary Purpose of Organization Unit:
Advancement is charged with philanthropic fundraising to expand the mission, access, and programs of UNC Pembroke.

Primary Purpose of Position:
The Assoc. Director of Advancement Communications creates donor-centered communication tools and strategies that enhance donor relationships and build a culture of philanthropy at UNC Pembroke.

Job Description:
Established in 1887 as a school for the education of American Indians, The University of North Carolina at Pembroke serves a distinctly diverse student body and encourages inclusion and appreciation of the values of all people. Creates donor-centered marketing and communications plan that highlights UNCP donors and the impact of their giving.

Leads writing and design of UNCP donor profiles, donor proposals, and donor impact reports.

Ensures that the communications of the Advancement team is aligned with the overall advancement plan, and is representative of the highest quality expression of UNCP brand standards.

Oversees design and functionality of Advancement/Foundation website.

Coordinates and manages donor/prospect communications in alignment with objectives and plans created by the University Communications and Marketing (UCM) division.

Serves as spokesperson for the Office of Advancement in collaboration with UCM and Chancellor's office.

Ensures quality and consistency of messages and appearance across media channels including: fundraising/major gift proposals, e-communications, event communications, solicitation, and stewardship pieces.

Oversees and coordinate the relationships between UNCP Advancement and freelance and/or contractual writers, designers and photographers.

Performs other duties and participate in special projects as assigned.


Preferred and Required Qualifications

Min T/E Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in a discipline related to the area of assignment; or equivalent combination of training and experience. All degrees must be received from appropriately accredited institutions.
